LET US CELEBRATE WORLD PASSWORD DAY - 4th MAY 2023

World Password Day is celebrated on the first Thursday in the month of May. This year it will be celebrated on 4th May 2023.
Fernando Corbato , MIT computer science professor and scientist created the first digital password In1961.This password was required for a giant time-sharing computer This giant computer created by him was to be used by several users and these users needed their own private access to the terminals.
Mark Burnett, a security consultant, author, and researcher first encouraged people to have a “password day,” where they update important passwords in his 2005 book Perfect Passwords. Inspired by his idea Intel created World Password Day — the first Thursday of May — in 2013 to improve awareness for the critical need for securing passwords
Now in 21st century everyone is aware of the importance of password. Creating a strong and secure password is every once part of life. Password can be at least 8 or more characters long and may be created with combination of uppercase letters, lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Most operating systems offer an easy way to create and store passwords. The Password is mainly required for personal identification to authenticate a user. These authentication systems prompt a user to enter his or her ID and password to receive system access
Today, usage of password is very common for online banking, social media accounts, website logins, and mobile devices. E-mail accounts, social media accounts, banking accounts, ATM pin numbers, credit cards, online shopping etc. That means we use our passwords to protect all of our digital information, from our social media profiles to our bank accounts. Because we are currently living in a digital era, it is imperative to have a secure password for your own privacy
Each year on the first Thursday in May, World Password Day promotes better password understanding… like changing password at regular intervals or making it more secure or changing it whenever there is threat of accessing account by someone else.. Interestingly, the day is meant to be a celebration of strong passwords that will protect your digital information.
